On September 9, 1956, Elvis performed on the Ed Sullivan Show for the first time. Elvis sang ‘Don’t Be Cruel’, ‘Love Me Tender’, ‘Ready Teddy’ and ‘Hound Dog’ from the CBS Studio in Los Angeles. More than 80 percent of the national viewers watched Elvis’s debut on the Sunday night show.
